Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Seekers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can anticipate learning which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
